By: Sidni and Charlotte The incident happened on Tuesday May 8, 2012 at about 8am along route 8. The road was closed for most of the day until the truck could be removed. The driver, Rick Snyder, was trying to avoid hitting another car when the incident happened. Two men heard the crash and rushed to the scene to help the driver. He was not seriously injured. Rick Snyder was rushed to the hospital; nobody was injured during the crash. The bridge was damaged during the crash, but construction workers repaired the bridge within several hours. Two men helped pull the man out of the creek. Emergency crews removed the truck on Tuesday morning near the intersection of Route 8 and Elfinwild Road. The truck went over the hillside about 15 feet spilling a little diesel fuel. No one was seriously injured but both the lady in the car and Rick Snyder was taken to the hospital. Rick Snyder was released from the hospital later that night. The reason why we think its important is because in happened in the shaler area. This also could have been a very serious accident hurting many people and the enviorment.
