After a U.S. Army soldier, staff Sgt. Robert Bales, allegedly went on a killing rampage in Afghanistan during early March, resulting in the death of 17 civilians, medical experts are weighing in on the impact of mental disorders and traumatic injuries.
U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Robert Bales, 38, is accused of walking into two villages at 2 A.M,, wearing night-vision-gogles near an Army outpost in Kandahar province’s Panjwai district and killing men, women and children on March 11. U.S. authorities have said Bales acted alone, leaving at night and eventually surrendering at his base. The U.S. military has charged Bales with 17 counts of murder with premeditation, for which he could face the death penalty. He also faces six counts of attempted murder and two counts of assault and is being held at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas prison after being flown from Afghanistan a few days after the killings. Staff Sgt. Bales made a terrible decision that day in Afghanistan. He shot innocent people who were living their basic lives. He did not like the people because of their race. He should lose his position as staff Sgt. because he did a very unconstitutional thing. Therefore, Staff Sgt. Bales will be infamous to the United States Military. Because of his actions, the country of Afghanistan will maybe plan more attacks on the USA. They think that we bring evil to them because of this man below.
