Man saved by bear after being attacked by a mountain lion
By: Sarah & Mackenzie
Robert Biggs was hiking in the woods when he was attacked by a mountain lion. Biggs, 69, was hiking near Whiskey Flat when he saw a mother bear and her cub. He stopped to watch them for a while and then when he turned to leave the mountain lion jumped on his back and he fell to his knees. Biggs hit the lion in the head with a rock and then the mother bear grabbed its neck and the two struggled for a few seconds and then the lion retreated and left. When Biggs returned home his wife pestered him to go to the doctor's and was worried because of all blood on his clothes. Robert was not worried. He just put peroxide on his arm.
"I poured some hydrogen peroxide on my arm, and it feels fine," Robert said. "It's black and blue from the wrist to the elbow and you can still see the puncture wounds, but it feels fine."

We think this is important because it isn't every day that you would get attacked by a mountain lion. People should be more careful when hiking in the woods. Biggs should have been extra careful when hiking and was lucky that the bear was there to help. Mr. Biggs should've listened to his wife and went to the hospital because it is better safe than sorry. What we can learn from this is to always be on our guards and to never underestimate nature and what it can do.
