He was cited, not convicted for possession of drug paraphernalia on April 23rd by the Mt. Lebanon police on an off campus, after school hours incident. Now, the school district is enforcing a 30 day prohibition on all school related activities. That includes his senior prom and his graduation. His attorney argues the district can't do this because because it was off campus, and also off school hours. The district's attorney argued that the extracurriculer activites are priveliges, not rights, and wheter Mitchell does them or not doesn't affect his education. His education is not affected because he is getting his dimploma and taking his exams.
