Our curent event was about the pictures sent by american soldiers that can eventually distract them from their missions. On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Times published photos of U.S. soldiers posing with what the paper said were bodies of insurgents in Afghanistan (shown below). The paper said the soldiers sent them to draw attention to the safety risk associated with a decline in leadership and discipline. The images are just the latest string of scandals that many people say could damage U.S. efforts in the war, which is in its 11th year. On Thursday the Afghan president, Hamid Karzai called for an "accelerated" transition of security responsibilities to the countries forces. he called the photos "inhumane and provacotive"
We think that those pictures are very disturbing. If someone were to send us these pictures they would probably distracted us from our work. This could definetly effect our government. One of the retired CIA agents said that if this continues we're going to have a very hard time stabalizing this country before 2014. I think he might be right. Everyone wants their family members out of this country. If they have to keep having misions and pictures being sent to them, I think we are still going to be there for a while. Which I know nobody wants, but we can't always have things our way.
